The Newborn Experience

your baby's first moments, perfectly captured

Newborn sessions are best scheduled within the first 2-3 weeks after birth. It's recommended to book in advance, ideally once you reach your second trimester, to ensure my availability. Your due date will be used as a placeholder on my calendar, and once your little one is born, we’ll confirm a date for your session. All sessions take place in my full-service studio, located just north of Boston. It's fully stocked with with props, accessories, and baby essentials to make the experience as smooth and stress-free as possible. I’ll style the session based on your preferred color palette and collaborate with you beforehand to ensure the photos reflect everything you’ve been envisioning and more. Family and sibling portraits can also be included, if desired.

It all starts with a conversation. The best way to reach out is via email (be sure to include your due date!) I'll send you all of the info you need and answer any questions you may have to make sure I'm the right photographer for you. I'm also happy to schedule a call if you'd prefer to chat over the phone before making your decision.

When you're ready to book, I'll send you my booking forms which include a questionnaire to help with styling, the session contract, and an invoice for the session fee. Once signed and paid, you're officially on the calendar! Your due date will be used as a placeholder for your session until baby arrives. We'll select the actual date for your session once you deliver.

Once your baby is earthside, it's time to schedule your session! When we've settled on a date, I will send you my detailed preparation guide that covers everything you'll need to know before your session. This includes tips for what to bring with you, what to wear, and how to prepare older siblings if they'll be joining us in the studio.

After you're welcomed into the studio with your new little one, it's time to sit back and relax! You get to sit in my comfy seating area while I work my magic. The studio will be warm for baby's comfort, and with all of my expert baby-soothing tricks at play, you may find yourself taking a little snooze yourself. Sessions typically last about 2 hours, depending on baby's cooperation.

It's time for the best part - viewing your photos! About a week after our session, I'll send you a link to your private online gallery to view your proofs. Once you've selected your favorite images to purchase, I'll get to work retouching and perfecting your portraits. Digital images will be delivered to your inbox and physicial products, such as prints, arrive straight to your door.

How it Works

No, newborn sessions are only offered out of my studio located in Beverly, MA. It's important that I have full control over the lighting and overall environment to provide you with the best possible result.

Newborn sessions typically last 2-3 hours, depending on the cooperation of your baby. I always take time to pause for feeding and soothing as needed - nothing is ever rushed!

Unfortunately, no. Pets are not allowed in my studio space for safety reasons. As a dog owner myself, I understand how important they are to the family, but you are kindly asked to leave your furry friends at home.

That's ok! If your baby is born prematurely and needs a little extra time in the hospital, all you need to do is keep in contact with me so we can schedule the session when they are discharged. I have lots of experience working with preemies and as a nurse, I am more than comfortable handling them with care.

They are only this little

They say it all passes in the blink of an eye, and as cliché as it may sound, it’s absolutely true. The newborn stage is the quickest to slip away, and amidst the whirlwind of new parenthood, it can be hard to hold on to those precious moments. Before you know it, your baby is walking, talking, and getting ready for school. As a Boston newborn photographer, my goal is to preserve that fleeting newborn stage in the most beautiful way possible, allowing you to focus on adjusting to life with your new little one. I promise, this is an investment you’ll never regret, as these images only grow in value as your baby continues to change.
