Always a treat having a super sleepy baby in the studio who gives lots of different facial expressions! This little guy flashed some smiles, some forehead wrinkles, and some adorable kissy lips. When styling his session, mom opted for the traditional blue as well as some darker, more earth toned neutrals. I know this sounds weird, but I love when I get requests for brown. It’s not a color that gets picked often for newborns, but it’s such a gorgeous color for all skin tones! I was thrilled that I was able to use it for this guy.

Along with the traditional posing on the beanbag, we rounded out our session with some prop shots and family photos as well. I am often asked whether or not family photos are included with newborn sessions and the answer is yes! Your baby wants to look back and see you in these images just as much as they’ll enjoy seeing themselves as a newborn. It really is a super special time to be photographed with your baby.
