Burlington MA Newborn Photos

One of the best things about working with a professional newborn photographer is being able to customize your session. When you book Burlington MA newborn photos, I’ll use your preferred color palette and props to create the best possible images. For this session, my clients chose pinks and neutrals – a very popular color selection for girls. The resulting images are soft and feminine and will be a perfect accent for her nursery!

Beanbag Poses

One of the staples of a posed newborn photoshoot is what we call “beanbag poses.” I’m probably one of the only newborn photographers who still uses a beanbag (the popular option now is a raised table), but I personally feel it’s the safest option. Plus it’s more comfortable for baby. On the beanbag, the focus is getting baby into those precious curled up poses. One of my favorites is what we newborn photographers call “the bum up.” It’s a parent favorite as well, because it showcases all of baby’s cutest features in one image: their sweet face, fingers, and toes. I will typically shoot this pose with a decorative wrap, as shown above, so parents have a more modest option to display in their home or on social media.

Adding Stuffed Animals

I absolutely love adding small stuffed animals or “lovies” into the session as an adorable way to showcase baby’s size. The stuffed bunny above is actually part of my personal prop collection, but I’ve had clients bring in their own stuffed animals to incorporate as well. Is there anything cuter than a sleeping newborn holding on to their future lovie? I think it’s so darling.

Prop Posing

Your Burlington MA newborn photos would not be complete without prop poses! My goal for every session is to incorporate at least two props into my workflow. Occasionally I am able to add an additional setup if baby is particularly sleepy, or if my clients opt not to do family posing. For this session, I used one of my bamboo cribs, the metal bucket, and a woven basket. I have a large selection of props for you to choose from. Each one is designed specifically for newborn photography, so the size and structure is just right. Parents love the variety I am able to add to their galleries with these types of shots and I always have fun styling props to match the “theme” or overall look of the session. Florals made a big statement in this sweet girl’s photoshoot!
