When planning your Haverhill MA maternity photoshoot, you’ll have the option of selecting either an outdoor session or a studio-based session. Each have their own pros and cons and offer very different looks style-wise. This couple chose a studio session due to the time of year, and I absolutely love the balance of classic and artistic styles that they chose!
We started with the classic “jeans” look, which is always one of my favorites to shoot in studio. This look is great if you want to keep things more casual. I ask clients to bring a pair of pre-pregnancy jeans with them (don’t worry – they aren’t meant to button!) and either a sports bra or a snug fitting tank top. Some clients choose to accessorize this look with an oversized button-up shirt.
Next, we moved on to the black cut-out dress. The black dress is another must-do studio look that almost every client chooses. It’s elegant, timeless, and makes for a stunning black and white portrait! I have other black dress options that don’t require exposing your belly if you’d prefer to keep things more on the modest side.
Sticking with the classic theme, we then moved on to backlit portraits. I would describe this look as angelic and ethereal. I love using draping fabrics, such as chiffon, for this look as it adds that extra special touch.
For the final two looks, I switched up the background to something a bit more dramatic. The great thing about a studio maternity photoshoot is the ability to not only change up your wardrobe, but the background as well. I was able to blend the classic light and bright portraits, with ones that had a moodier and darker feel.
