I offer a “Baby’s First Year” plan that includes a newborn session, six month baby photos, and a first birthday session. It’s one of my more popular options to make sure all of your baby’s firsts are documented. While of course I love posing tiny newborns, I have a soft spot in my heart for six month baby photos since they’re the best age!
I don’t tend to use a lot of props or overwhelming accessories with this age. I like to focus on baby’s facial expressions and their personality. Sometimes babies will already be starting to crawl at this age, which can make things interesting! Case in point – this cutie pie was already on the move!
Outfit and backdrop changes are a great way to get variety with this age. I have an entire wardrobe dedicated to babies 3-12 months and this outfit is one of my favorites. Is there anything cuter than a baby in suspenders!? I think not.
Because this little guy was so good for his six month baby photos, we were able to sneak in an extra outfit at the end. If you know me and my style, you know I can’t resist a baby in a bear hat. I have bear hats in almost every size at this point. It was so much fun watching him play with the bear toys I have at the studio. Not every photo has to be baby looking at the camera and smiling. My client’s favorites are often ones where baby is interacting with their environment.
Six month baby photos are ones you absolutely do not want to skip! Babies are so much fun at this age and are really starting to come into their own. It’s a stage in their life that you will absolutely want to remember as they grow. The best time to schedule these sessions is just as your baby is starting to sit up on their own – that can be anytime between six to seven months.
